My first experience at Souplantation.
Today I was running errands around Harbor and Adams, and I decided to wander into Souplantation. I had heard positive compliments about the place...so I took myself out to lunch.
Upon entering I realized it was buffet style. A respectable $8.19 for all you can eat salad, soup, and breadsticks.
I started with a fantastic seasonal pear and walnut salad. It was fresh, crisp, and delicious!
I couldn't believe all the choices for soup.... I started with a favorite of mine--French Onion soup. Now, I am picky about my french onion....I try it almost everywhere that offers it, and I am usually disappointed. Souplanantation did not let me down. It was thick, rich, and SO FLAVORFUL--just like I like it. The cheese wasn't baked on top--there were toppings to add your own croutons and cheese...but it was still one of the better French onion soups I've ever had.
Serving only Dryers ice cream--dessert was nice too. Better than your average buffet line ice cream station...
Overall, I would say it was an enjoyable experience. I will likely return. The only thing missing--someone to enjoy it with! Mom, out of everyone I know, I think you would enjoy it most... Next time you are in CA....I will treat you to soup and salad at Souplantation.
Wednesdays are dedicated to a restaurant review of an Orange County restuarant I have NEVER visited. Next week: 113 degrees!
